Whether you are a medical professional, engineer, computer programmer or a lawyer or have experience in construction or rebuilding, or simply an extra hand to lend – Puerto Rico needs you!

If you do not currently live in Puerto Rico, it is highly recommended that you find an established organization to volunteer with and contact them BEFORE making your way to Puerto Rico. Otherwise, you may end up as another mouth to feed, as water and food are not easy to find.

In response to Hurricane Maria, the Center for Volunteer Development will be mobilizing volunteers to help shelters and relief and recovery organizations after a natural disaster.
Municipalities, NGOs, groups and communities, if you need volunteers, complete the requisition of volunteers.

Delivering Good has almost 900 non-profit community partners in our network in need of volunteers, and we can help to connect you with an organization that receives our donations and distributes them to people in crisis. Our community partners serve many different types of needs, allowing us to match you with an organization that offers support to a cause that is important to you.
Currently, Puerto Rico is asking volunteers to be deployed to communities affected by hurricanes Maria and Irma, as this will create an additional burden for first responders to arrive on the island. Our members are fully-vetted, experienced, and dedicated professionals who will use your time wisely.

COMPUTER PROGRAMMERS / PROFESSIONALS
If you have coding, programming, or technical skills, Startups of Puerto Rico has opened a registry to connect with organizations or agencies with pressing needs in Puerto Rico. This “inventory” of talent will be connected with opportunities to help develop support services or create and innovate new solutions.
The National Alliance for Hispanic Health, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of Hispanics, has teamed up with Project HOPE, an organization that specializes in bringing medicines and health experts to areas impacted by disasters. Specifically, it is expected that they will be looking for internists, infectious disease experts, family physicians, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, and mental health professionals.
A federal program created to support states and territories in establishing standardized volunteer registration programs for disasters and public health and medical emergencies.
A national network of volunteers, organized locally to improve the health and safety of their communities. The MRC network comprises 991 community-based units and almost 200,000 volunteers located throughout the United States and its territories.
